Seyreyleyip
I saw the moon shining And burned, Allah, Allah.
Muhammad lies in a bed of light,
Your my heart's heart Muhammad.
Your fragrence is the rose of paradise...
Muhammad lies in a bed of light,
Your my heart's heart Muhammad.
He's the one who interceeds for both worlds, Allah, Allah.
His beauty surpasses Joseph's of Canaan.
He is the king of messengers, saints and those with love.
Your my heart's heart Muhammad.
Your kevser lips bewilder me,
They make zikr with sincerety.
Muhammad lies in a bed of light,
Your my heart's heart Muhammad.
He would even interceed when he was young.
Muhammad lies in a bed of light,
Your my heart's heart Muhammad.

There's the refrain: "Muhammed lies in a bed of light." I'm wondering what this refers to?

hi Ariel,
this refers to the idea that Muhammad, peace be upon him, was God's first creation. There is a tradition that has God saying, "I was a hidden secret and wanted to be known" So, to this end Muhammad's essence was created first. What is the nature of this? Muhammad was the creation that best reflected its Creator's Essence, Unity.
So, to put it another way, Allah created Muhammad's essence in His Essence. In the Quran He says about His Self, "Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth" So Allah created a mirror (Muhammad) to reflect the Light of God.
An interesting side note to this idea, is because we are talking about essences here, all of this is occurs within all human beings as well. What belief and faith we find in ourselves, that is the light of the Prophet within us. So, when we say, "peace be upon him", to the Prophet, we are also wishing peace to all of creation and humankind, too.
thank you for asking, hope this helps.

It it appears that Muslims have not read the hadiths and know nothing about their dear prophet. How about a little honesty...
I will leave a few quotes here about the man you so adore. Maybe you will learn, but maybe not. Note the sources and the links to Islamic reference sites.
Quote: Ibn 'Aun reported: ...The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) made a raid upon Banu Mustaliq while they were unaware and their cattle were having a drink at the water. He killed those who fought and imprisoned others. On that very day, he captured Juwairiya bint al-Harith. (Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 62, Number 130). Another Quote : "The military expeditions (Ghazawat, literally raid) in which the Messenger personally participated were twenty-six. Some say there were twenty-seven." (Tabari IX:118)
Quote: Then the Prophet was informed by a shouter for help, he sent some men in their pursuit, and before the sun rose high, they were brought, and he had their hands and feet cut off. Then he ordered for nails which were heated and passed over their eyes, and whey were left in the Harra (ie. rocky land). They asked for water, and nobody provided them with water till they died…" http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/fundamentals/hadithsunnah/bukhari/052.sbt.html. This is verse 261.
and so on... The man was a murderer, slaver, torturer and rapist. And these things are written by his friends and followers, not his enemies. Do you think that Mohammud was a mercy for the people at Banu Mustaliq?
People, there is something very wrong with Islam. You need to be honest and recognize the hate, anger and violence in the Quran. This is why Islam is what it is today.

PS: Condsider also this passage...
First, a few quotes from Islamic accounts...
Quote: Mohammed says… "Why is it, O ‘A’isha (his 9 year old wife!) that you are out of breath? I said: There is nothing. He said: Tell me or the Subtle and the Aware would inform me. I said: Messenger of Allah, may my father and mother be ransom for you, and then I told him (the whole story). He said: Was it the darkness (of your shadow) that I saw in front of me? I said: Yes. He struck me on the chest which caused me pain……. ," Muslim 4:2127.

Did that verse say that Islam's great prophet was also a wife-beater? Oh my! Say it is not so!

Kactuz, this is not an accurate conclusion. Indeed, the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was a human being. But he was a very enlighted human being, a prophet of God. There has been an effort by some to devalue him beyond ordinary. This cannot be true. Even if one is not fond of him, his life is a testimony that it was faith and piety that took him over the borders.
Ed, hopefully people will make some contributions so I can put it. If anyone want to contribute, please write to me through the email in my profile.

Is that an eclipse? I love the aesthetics, it fits very well ... it has a certain enigmatic air to it.
